The cooperation at Next Corporate Communication revolves around research projects. In every project, there is a strong value proposition for each participant – the business partners have an expected economic benefit from the project outcome, and the research institutions have an equal expected academic benefit from the research.
This matching approach is unique and fits well with our mission – to conduct work that is both academically rigorous but also relevant to industry.
A business partner typically will participate directly in specific projects. Each project has a statement of work, period of performance, deliverables, and an academic project director. Research and business partners collaborate throughout the project to share data, tools and frameworks, and results so that the knowledge transfer mechanism is maximized.
During the fall and spring semester each project will host a research workshop so that all business partners can learn about the on-going projects being supported by others.
Each year the center holds its annual conference where business and research partners jointly present the latest results.
Throughout the year, the center produces a series of newsletters, reports and webinars to disseminate knowledge to all participants. Additionally, research scholars will publish the strongest results of the research process in peer reviewed journals.
With this structure, and series of events and publications, each company can focus on its dedicated research projects, but also benefit from periodic updates of other research at the center.
The contribution of business partners to Next Corporate Communication comprehends either an annual fee, financial support for bachelor and master theses, sponsorship for conferences, or a corporate donation for a doctoral candidate.
